Two Best Areas to Stay in Da Nang

A large body of water with a city in the background. Da Nang Vietnam Hotel.

I help you find the best Da Nang Vietnam hotel for your stay. Choosing the best area lets you focus on exploring the city without the hassle of spending lots of time in the car or on the motorcycle. I narrow the choice down to two areas in the city and give you all the details about the areas, so you know where you should stay.

Da Nang has had huge development in the last number of years. This has pushed the city to become a major location for Vietnamese and tourists.

The city had a major focus in the Vietnam War where the United States troops arrived at these beaches. The city still remembers the lasting effects of the Agent Orange chemicals used by the Americans.

Editor’s Note: This guide shows you places with a kitchen so you can cook meals at home. This is perfect for someone with celiac, food allergies or for families who always need food at home for the little ones. This is great for people who want to maintain a healthy diet while travelling.

Da Nang has the gorgeous Khe Beach that is 20 miles along with the city. The beaches are nicely maintained and have relaxing umbrella stations to lounge in the sun all day. There are many water sports to do and it is an up-and-coming beginner surfing beach. There are many local surfers who offer great lessons.

The beach is filled with swimmers, sunbathers and surfers and across the street there are is a beautiful skyline filled with towering buildings. The beach has even made it on New York’s 52 Best Places to See in 2019 list as number 14. A walk along the beach will be a great way to see the city.

Downtown and Center of the City

There is a must-see during your evening right in the center of the city. The Dragon Bridge provides a great show every Saturday and Sunday at 9 pm. The dragon breathes fire and then sprays water. Just remember not to watch from on the bridge, because you will get completely soaked if you do. I recommend staying around the Dragon Bridge and the Han River Bridge.

I suggest visiting the Cham Museum to see items from the 7th to 15th centuries. There many other museums to visit as well, such as the Fifth Military Museum which illustrates the violent Vietnam War.

For shopping, head to the Con Market area for souvenirs, crafts and clothing.

  1. It’s brilliant to find a post that offers accommodation recommendations with cooking facilities rather than just hotel ones. As a family we like to keep costs down by going self-catering if we can and having separate bedrooms is also desirable. Thanks for sharing!

    • I know! This works really well for people with families to have that extra space and to prepare meals. If you have a specific diet, this is a life-saver.

  2. The room was great. The location was amazing, two minute walk to the beach. The area is also good, restaurants as well as a very cheap convenience store! All in all I was very happy with my stay and would definitely choose this hotel again if I ever come back to Da Nang. Third time staying at this hotel, walking distance from the beach, bars and restaurants. Love the motorcycle rental for real Vietnam experience. Nice view from the rooftop over da nang city and beach to settle the day with a beer!
